With Mom Break still being new (just started in early 2017), she’s working hard to follow her passion in life! Like many others, she inspiring, motivating and will give you that extra kick to the butt to get your dream in motion.

When yo need that 15 minute break, like we all do, stop by Mom Break and see what all the hype is about. Such a great site for all mamas!

Thank you for sharing Erica!! I loved reading your story! I can’t wait to see where Mom Break takes you!

Tell us about you and what you do!
I’m Erica, mom to 1.5 year old daughter and owner of Mom Break, an online community for moms. I’m told that I “bite off more than I can chew” and I LOVE being busy. I love Harry Potter and Star Wars, and will often fall asleep watching TV. I love food, and generally workout so that I can eat, because I have zero willpower.

Do you have a full/ part time job? Do you have a side hustle? What are they?
I work full-time as a Marketing Manager at a software company, while running Mom Break on the side.

Walk us through a normal day of yours. Soccer games, daycare, work, dinner, ballet practices, what’s involved?
Every single day is different, filled with new adventures and crazy schedules. This is what a typical day looks like for me:

5:30 Wake up and answer Mom Break emails
6:30 Baby wakes up, get her ready for daycare and read a few books
7:15 Daycare drop-off, then head to my day job
7:30 – 4:00 Day job (during lunch, I usually respond to Mom Break comments on social media)
4:30 Pick up the baby and play until dinner. During this time, we turn off our phones and focus on family time. My husband and I take turns making dinner, while the other spends time with the baby
6:30 – 7:00 Baby’s bedtime
7:00 – 9:00 Work on Mom Break content
9:00 – 10:00 TV, read, and chat with my husband

How do you prioritize your to do list?
I’ve recently realized that I’ll never be able to complete everything on my to do list, so I tackle the things that “need” to be done…everything else is a bonus. Things that used to be a priority before kids, are no longer a priority. I.E. If the bathroom isn’t clear, the world won’t end.

Do you get down time in your day? If so, what’s one thing you do for yourself daily?
I like watching at least 1 mindless TV show every day. It’s a chance to turn off my brain and shut down for at least 30 minutes. I usually do this before bed.

How many hours of sleep do you get on a regular basis?
I’m lucky enough to have hypothyroidism, which makes me incredibly tired all the time, so this is the one thing that I can’t skimp on. I usually sleep at least 7 hours a night (thank god for sleep training!)

I love your message behind your brand. What made you want to start MomBreak? How long have you been up and running?
Prior to Mom Break I started two other online, e-commerce companies. After running both of these for about a year, I was able to identify what I liked and didn’t like about running a company…that’s why I started Mom Break. It’s encompasses all of the things that I love doing and that I’m passionate about: meeting new people, parenting, and Marketing.

I launched at the beginning of 2017 and I’m incredibly excited about what’s in store for the rest of the year.

What is the funniest mama moment you can recall with your kids?
Easy…the baby recently ate her own poop…and I had to dig it out of her mouth with my bare hand. Classic mom moment.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to new or expecting mamas?
All that matters is that you’re healthy and happy. There’s so much pressure on new moms out there, and ultimately, if you’re doing your best…then that’s all you can do.

What has been your “ah-ha” moment of Mom Break?
One of the scariest moments for me was when I recently shared my video depicting my experience with postpartum depression. It’s incredibly raw, personal, and shared emotions that I’ve never even expressed to my family.

While there wasn’t a specific “ah-ha” moment, I received so much positive feedback from everybody in my life, that it made me realized that Mom Break is what I’m meant to do.

What’s one of your favorite quotes to live by?
“This to shall pass…” Sound silly, but life throws so many curve balls and challenges at you, I like to think “this to shall pass” because it helps me put things into perspective.

Rapid Fire Answer questions with one word or a short phrase ! GO!

List- maker? Phone or Paper?
Phone (LOVE Evernote)

What’s on the night stand? Book? Magazine? Wine?
Books and magazines don’t read, phone and charger, occasionally an empty glass of wine 😉

If you had an afternoon to yourself, what would you do?
I can’t even comprehend this question…maybe go to the spa, then get a massage.

Your go to meal when in a time crunch – for the family.
Eggs

Your go to activity if you need 15 minutes to get something done.
Paw Patrol (ugh, hate admitting that one)

Do you have a favorite app that you can’t live without?
Aside from social media, Evernote.

Favorite social media platform?
Instagram

Favorite meal to cook when you have the time?
Hmmm…I actually prefer takeout ☺ But I do enjoy chicken parm.
